Ontario PC leader Tim Hudak was in Cornwall at the Ramada Inn on the afternoon of Monday September 19th for a Conservative rally with local SDSG candidate Jim McDonell. About 200 people were in attendance, and many held Hudak signs and noise makers. There was a lot of energy in the crowd as Hudak entered. He shook hands with supporters on the way up to the stage. He then preceded to give an enthusiastic speech.
Hudak asked the crowd, "Do you want four more years of Dalton McGuinty?" The blue and white crowd shouted "No"! Hudak said, "It's time for a change in Ontario, and it's time to send Jim McDonell as your next MPP. Because here is where Jim McDonell and I stand. Dalton McGuinty will raise taxes, we will lower taxes for hardworking Ontario families and seniors. Dalton McGuinty will take your hydro bills through the roof, we'll take the HST off your hydro and your heat."
Hudak concluded with this, "The people here in this room never stopped believing in the incredible future of this province of Ontario and its hardworking industrial people... We just need to bring change, and in seventeen days from tonight we will. Thank you". He received a loud standing ovation from those in attendance.
